THE FOUNDERS

Susan Feldman and Alison Gelb Pincus are passionate home enthusiasts. After realizing that there wasn’t a place to find stunning home décor goods at affordable prices, they created One Kings Lane.

When Susan and Alison were Manhattanites, they loved attending private sample sales. But this ended when both moved to the West Coast. So, they began to dream: What if there were a shopping destination that offered the remarkable deals of a sample sale, but with top quality, curated goods (no need to dig for great finds!)? And what if it could be accessed from the convenience of home (or the office)? This was an idea even New York City dwellers would love! Thus, they decided to create One Kings Lane to blend their combined experiences in retail, apparel and digital media; their passion for home decor and design; and their entrepreneurial aspirations.

One Kings Lane is the first, home-oriented private sales destination on the Internet, and its goal is to make living well an affordable reality.

Due to their decor obsessions, Susan and Alison continue to enjoy learning from their favorite interior designers, and savor their words and wisdom. As such, One Kings Lane captures experts’ wisdom and philosophies in the “Get Inspired” section.

The brand mission of creating an innovative online service for both consumers and brand owners continues to motivate Susan, Alison and the devoted One Kings Lane team.

The Curtain Exchange: No swatches. No guesswork. No waiting.

The Design Bloggers Conference is very excited to welcome The Curtain Exchange as a sponsor. The Curtain Exchange is a 10 year old unique concept in the window coverings world offering customers a proven way to buy curtains and other window treatments. Whether you live close to a store or hundreds of miles away The Curtain Exchange makes it possible for you to try out curtains in your home for 48 hours. You will see how the curtains look during the day and at night. In this way, you can be sure you’ve made the right choice.

In a world where many home furnishing items are mass-produced off-shore in nameless factories, their curtains are made domestically in the USA by trained and trusted seamstresses who have been making curtains for years. With over 100 in stock styles in most stores and access to 500 other fabrics, The Curtain Exchange stores are ready to help you find the right look.

Listening to customers is a key element of service at The Curtain Exchange. Whether you call on the phone or visit one of their stores, you will be greeted by an experienced window coverings expert, someone who understands windows of all shapes and sizes. Their experts know how best to help you so they will not only ask about color and style, texture and shape, width and length, but will talk about linings and interlinings and privacy, in other words, they want to know all about you and your home, your needs and requirements.

The Curtain Exchange offers a wide range of linen, silk, cotton, damask, print, sheer and woven fabrics. Their styles are current and include contemporary and traditional styling.

If you live near one of The Curtain Exchange stores, a trained window coverings consultant may be able to visit you for an in-home consultation. If not, you can call one of their stores and let them know what you are looking for. They can send you images of styles they think will work and if you see something you like they will send it to you on approval for 48 hours. What could be better?
