Currey’s philosophy is a recognition that they are a people business. The essence of Currey & Company is not only the product for which it is known but also the very important people who help to create the product and carefully deliver it into the hands of those other important people, their customers, in a timely fashion. Their on-going program of process improvement speaks of their faith in the ability of the men and women who work at Currey & Company and their ability to contribute to the betterment of the company and its products. Their faith in them is demonstrated by the fact that they give all of their employees the opportunity to obtain a four-year college degree by paying for their tuition as well as bearing the expense for remedial courses and English programs for their non-English speakers. People are key, but product is also the lifeblood of the company and Currey & Company takes pride in their original design work , meticulous craftsmanship and careful attention to all details of a product. The effort of their multi-step hand-finishing process manifests itself in the richness and depth of the final finish of many of their products. The appearance of these pieces speaks of the human hands that have touched them as well as of the design skills and craftsmanship that have created them. Currey has the willingness to do what many other manufacturers regard as too difficult or too time-consuming. They think it shows.

Robert B. Currey, founder of Storehouse, Inc., founded Garden Source Furnishings as an offshoot of his Atlanta retail business in 1988. Garden Source evolved into today’s Currey & Company, a significant player in the lighting industry. Garden Source’s first offerings were historic garden furnishings from the Winterthur Museum joined by a very American collection of garden whimsies, birdhouses and rustic twig furniture, Some lighting products were among these first offerings and by the early1990’s formed a significant part of the collection. Accordingly, the name of the company was changed to Currey & Company.

Chandeliers, wall sconces and table lamps form a significant part of the company’s offerings and these goods are characterized by the attention and detailing that goes into their manufacturing and finishing. With a workforce in Atlanta, Currey International in the Philippines, and China, the product line has grown to more than 1,000 items. Rugs, upholstery, furniture and accessories have been added over the past decade so that we can now offer a floor to ceiling shopping experience for our customers.

Currey & Company is represented by sales reps in the United States and Internationally with permanent showrooms in Atlanta, Dallas, High Point and New York. Currey also has an International Sales Office in Hong Kong.

2013 marks the 25th anniversary of Currey & Company. The company has grown and evolved from when it was founded in by Suzanne and Robert Currey in 1988. There is a common thread that runs through the entire 25 years, and that is the spirit of creativity. The use of natural materials, attention to details, time-honored craftsmanship and product designs influenced by authenticity, design history and timely trends are all part of the creative process at Currey & Company.
